About
ASDavis Media Group
The
story of our books begins with the ASDavis Media Group in 2005, when publisher/executive editor Alan Davis
sought to deliver the concept of "peak" (not peak season) travel to an audience of savvy,
contemporary urban adventurers.
ASDavis
Media Group is based in San Francisco, California, and is comprised of the publishing imprints Pulse Guides and
Greenline Publications. While continuing to expand with a team of experienced editors and a growing network of writers
around the world, both publishing arms remain dedicated to delivering accurate, meticulously researched information, and providing
travelers with an experienced, insider's selection of the very best that travel can offer.
About
Greenline Publications
Alan
Davis established Greenline Publications in response to his sense that guidebooks were failing to
create the excitement that comes with peak experiences. Drawing from his early experience in the tour operator business,
in which itineraries were key to success, his aim was to point readers to the very best possible experience, never settling
for the ordinary — in short, extraordinary guides for extraordinary travelers.
The
Greenline Historic Travel Series was launched in 2002 with publication of The
25 Best World War II Sites: Pacific Theater, followed in 2003 by The 25 Essential World War II
Sites: European Theater. These books set the series tone, providing a unique combination of history book,
contemporary road map to existing sites and a logistical travel guide. The 25 Best Civil War
Sites (2005) and Colonial America and the American Revolution: The 25 Best Sites (2006),
complete the series to date.
